This virus thing screwed my budget for the year, bought more than I should have. I am not done yet, got stuff coming from Amazon.
You guys got that problem too?
Quite the opposite I must say. This virus has been good for the budget. We haven’t been outside at all. No eating out, no pumping gas, no activities for kids, no summer camp bill so far. And I haven’t done much online ordering but that’s about to change now that weather is warming up.
Bob,
Remember,
WHY JUST DO IT WHEN YOU CAN OVERDUE IT
She only wanted 3-4 apple trees like at her grandpa’s place .
They musta had babies cause I now have 90+ trees with 130+ varieties of apples, peaches, plums nects etc, and building a grape arbor this summer.
The COVID VIRUS is not the only bug that can get ya.
Mike
I hear you, don’t feel bad now!
I am the same way as @Susu. My bank account keeps going up. My spring and summer vacation plans never materialized. There is no eating out or eating anything nice, since food still doesn’t taste quite like it used to. I have all the trees the yard can support so no more! The only gardening supplies bought were more soil, seeds, and bigger pots to upgrade my figs. My only other real interest is fishing, and I’ve got enough gear to last me at least the next decade. I got sick and stopped buying anything and everything during that time since I thought what if I don’t survive…
What else are budgets for, but to exceed?
if you are my neighbor can give you some 25 gl hd containers.Andrew, if you live on a lake you don,t eat a lot of fish, you eat meat like this.
I think 15 gallon pots are the most I can handle! Your success with pot culture is truly inspiring. It’s perfect for my driveway which is the only remaining sunny space.
I don’t end up eating most of the fish I catch (smallmouth bass). They usually end up back in the water unless bleeding or I get bycatch like the incidental walleye or crappie. I do have an appetite for panfish. There’s a fine ultralight rod in my set for flinging microjigs into the horizon when I’m feeling like it.
I hope you feel better soon. One of my daughter’s friends lost his senses of taste and smell for three weeks already, and they haven’t come back.
Yes, this has absolutely screwed my budget. I have spent way too much time shopping for plants and seeds online. Just since the lockdown started, I have bought banana plants, citrus trees, a fig tree, grape vines, boysenberry, blueberries, countless seeds, waterlilies, and let’s not forget the mixed lot of 100 daylilies
Granted, most of this was stuff I had planned to buy eventually, just not all at once and not right now.
I always tell my wife gardening is cheaper than owning a boat. Her weak spot is buying books. The UPS man just shakes his head. If I get an order of trees, my wife takes that as permission to buy some more books. Happy marriage.
Yup almost back to normal other than smell/taste. Thank you for asking!
Did you have Covid?
berkley gulp alive with a chartreuse jighead under a slip bobber during the spawn! crappie candy! they even hit it if its still. i dead stick another rod near the boat for the ones that follow but don’t hit. they usually hit the dead stick.
I buy both!
Yes, I recovered from the covid. It was a troublesome few weeks.
@moose71 I love the gulp under a bobber technique. You can catch just about anything. I’ve gotten all sorts of bass, walleye, crappie, catfish, you name it while fishing like that!
Andrew,
Explain that technique? Just trying to visualize it.
You just need a new accounting category: “off budget” purchases - like the government.
That way you can buy everything you want and still be within your budget.
I am sorry you got Covid but very happy that you recovered. You were not on a vent were you? My wife had a friend that caught it and was home for a few weeks. Still does’t feel quite right yet. A lot of massive headaches with it and the fever.
salmon, trout and lake trout here like them too!
