Packham’s Triumph Pear

Is this pear precocious?

Ours is loaded with blossoms yet all of our other European pears do not have a single flower.

This is early morning, so the flowers aren’t all the way open yet.

It is in a pot, but I’m not putting my pears out in their spot until I can protect them better from deer and bears.

I grafted several last year. You piqued my curiosity now. I am going to make a trip (off site) to see if any flowered this year.

Please let us know what you find out.

Packham’s was neither vigorous nor flowering after one season of growth on Callery (two separate grafts on different trees). Nova and Abbe Fetel were the big winners in precocity [EDIT: Add Douglas too]. They were loaded with blooms/fruitlets after two years of growth.
