Many people grow fireblight susceptible rootstock and susceptible pears. What can a person do in this situation? Consider an interstem Interstem aka interstock Pear Grafting of old home or farmingdale Farmingdale pear - #35 by clarkinks . We can use interstems to accomplish disease resistance, improved production, dwarfing of the trees, etc… Many people believe they us ohxf rootstocks but they really use old home x bartlett. Farmingdale are very good but nearly noone has actually ever saw one.
