I put together this pear maturity chart from information scraped from a few websites. It covers many common varieties. Please keep in mind that this data is highly subjective and varies by latitude and climate. In other words, it should be close but not exact.
Great info, Darrel!
Let me throw Ambroisa and Bell dates, adjusted to your list. My Potomac was ready on September 10th, so that’s +7 days to the listed date here.
So adjusted dates are:
Ambrosia: Aug 10th
Bell: Aug 24th.
I have some matched bloom period info which overlaps with the above list. Let me take a look at how it can be presented. I added pollen group at the end of the line. There weren’t many matches for pollen shed but a few are already in the database.
Thanks AJ, I gave Warren the maturity date on which I harvest fruit here at my home. It is obviously a few weeks earlier than areas further north. I will probably adjust the date so it is more based off of a standard variety such as Kieffer.
Comice is probably last week Sept into early Oct according to websites, extending the tail end of a cool climate harvest season. Late bloom time.
Shipova is “early fall”. It’s not a pure pear but an inter-species cross-breed. Self-fertile with late bloom.
Thank you for making reference material like I do. If you think the dates are accurate for a particular growing zone, mention zone of reference in the preamble.

I thought Korean Giant and Olympic were the same cultivar, but they have different entries with different hdate/harvest group/pollen group in the table above.
Yes, because Korean Giant and Olympic are reported from two different locations therefore two different maturity dates. Olympic is from Grandpas Orchard in Watervliet Michigan. I don’t recall which site I got Korean Giant from but probably somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Korean Giant also has several disparities in pollen shed. One place says it is in group 4 and another says group 2. The most reliable information suggests it is group 2.
