Cummins lists the ripening date as August 20 in upstate New York. Since my pears are running 1-2 weeks ahead this year - and this was only the first ripe one - I expect the main harvest to begin around August 8–10 here in 6b.

Picked my Ayers pears this morning from a small limb. These pears unlike my Asian pears are almost blemish free. They are located about 5’ from one another. I don’t understand why the difference is unless stinkbugs just like Asian pears more.

Odd that you say that. My Ayers are always pretty clean also. Although bees are completely in love with them.
