Pineapple guava

OGW apparently has seedlings too. Didn’t know that and missed it.

Not sure if I should get the 4.5" pots or the 1gal plants to attempt grafting.

I’m pretty sure most or all cultivars will be fine at -3C unless it was 20C or something the day before.

Fruitwood nursery sells all sorts of seedling plugs for $8 apiece, but I’m not sure if they are large enough for grafting:

They do also sell rootstocks, but those are currently out of stock:

What sort of fertilizing, if any, do you guys use for feijoa?

After years of little growth I’ve started adding urea to good effect.

It’s good to add mulch around the trees.i add mulch from time to time.

My cat does that too, no matter how many times I ask her not to. I’ve been giving mine some generic ~20-20-20 and it put on decent growth this year. It’s near vegetables, so it’s gotten some of the granulated organic stuff too and wood chips/grass mulch out to the drip line.

I use Happy Frog general and tomato fertilizers. They seem to love it. Mine put on over a foot of growth last year.

I’ve started adding chicken manure and increasing the water schedule, I transplanted mine after one year in ground so it stunted them a bit. But they are finally taking off a bit

Which month do y’all put the fertilizer in?

I’m new to fertilizing them, but I found they do not burn very easily. Like the rest of my new orchard, I used Romeo 18-6-12 slow release earlier in the summer/spring along with a scattering of Turf Royale 21-7-14 lawn fert. The plants really took off when I began fertigating with Romeo 24-14-14 water soluble around every 14 days for the summer. They had been tiny little plants from OGW, but they’ve sized up surprisingly well.

I like to start about a month before everything starts to wake up. I water once a month or so in the winter time.

I don’t do what a lot of internet says so I’ll fertilize before they start to go dormant so that they’re not hungry. A month before they start to wake up is when i start my routine again.

Citrus and others that eat a lot get a little extra diluted fish fertilizer every 2 weeks instead

Interesting, what month do they go dormant?

Now it looks like  none have been putting on growth except kaiteri looks like it wants to keep growing so it’s a little confusing… when it starts to constantly stay under 55 degrees is usually when i see everyone trying to sleep
