PVA, PVNA, PCA, and PCNA are best I recall correct designations. Japanese PCNA and Chinese PCNA are similar phenotypes but from a different mutation. JPCNA is recessive while CPCNA is dominant.

Are you looking to plant some Asian persimmons Clark? If so, look carefully at your weather, particularly your winter low. Very few Asian persimmons can handle temps down to -10F. Hybrid Asian/American persimmons are more likely to succeed.

Also, @Richard has a list of varieties and background info.

Yes i am looking at PVNA types that might work here for this year or next year.

Hybrids are far more likely to succeed. IKKJ is often touted as more cold tolerant than most other Asians. Dar Sofiyivkiy is a hybrid with good potential for your climate.

@clarkinks , do you have Kuji Naja? It is a hybrid PVNA so best of both worlds.

You are correct to be focusing on PVNA varieties. Their flavor as a group is superior (by far) to PCNA varieties. But hardiness may be an issue for kaki PVNA.
I expect a lot of PVNA hybrids to become available soon. They are far easier to breed than PCNA hybrids and they will have both cold hardiness and the superior flavor characteristics.
