Prok and Yates American persimmons

Mirrors my experience. Kakis are far more vigorous than Americans here.

I love how we can get lots of different points of view in order to try to make a model or theory of this phenomenon. Conifers grow real tall out here and our native white oaks are huge, but these trees are adapted to dry summers without much rain or humidity. I believe that the American persimmon is not adapted that way. I have read that the persimmons grow real tall in the Mississippi flood plains.

Noting persimmon growing success in marginal zones with GDD and variety might be interesting. Maybe someone was doing that.

The GDD for the place in North Carolina was almost twice my GDD.
