Row orientation in new orchard

The full moon on December 4th, 2025 will follow a path mimicking the Sun on June 4th, so if you have a clear sky that night, you can go there on December 4-6th and get a feel for light in midsummer. The moon path changes A LOT between days, so if you miss the days directly bordering the full moon, it won’t be the same.

If it’s cloudy, the next full moon on January 03, 2026 will approximate a (1 + 6 = 7) July 03 sun path. The full Moon February 1st will approximate (2 + 6 = 8) the August 1st sun path at +/- 43 days from the summer solstice. March 3rd’s full moon is +/- 73 days from winter solstice, analogous to September 01 from summer solstice. April 1st full moon at 101 days from solstice is analogous to Sept 30 / Oct 1st. So now you have something you can go outside to do in the middle of winter.

Here’s the moonrise time schedule:

And a date interval calculator to measure days from the solstice (Dec 21 or Jun 21).
