Is that a fig with airlayers in the background or something else?

Yes! That’s a Granthams Royal. The air layer didn’t develop too well so I left it on the tree.

Okay. Yeah, I’ve left fig air layers on over winter and they’ve picked right back up the next spring. I just wasn’t sure if you’d figured out a way to air layer persimmons!

Good to know. Some of mine weren’t successful either.

@ramv how old is that tree? It’s very ornamental and perfect for the holiday season.

I planted the tree in 2018. It was in a pot before that. The Asians have been faster growing than American/hybrid here.

Very nice. How big was it when you placed it in the ground. I have one that was about 24in that I placed in the ground in 2018 and it is nowhere near the size of your tree. It has not fruited yet.

It was quite large when I put it in the ground – already a 10 gallon size.
It is still alternate bearing so I guess it needs to get quite a bit larger(and older) before it produces every year.
