What a tasty tomato!
Last year we got a really late start on tomatoes and stump of the world gave us our first ripe tomato, large enough to slice for a sandwich.
It’s on my “grow every year” list.
We have about nine tomatoes on it right now and more blossoms coming in and I’ve taken at least four off of it.
If you look at the picture of it, the height of it is the growth on the right top, the growth on the left is the plant next to it.
It’s a winner in my book.
I will have to load the pictures later. I can’t get them to load right now.

Indeed! Stump is my absolute #1 which I must grow every year. This year I was sloppy with my grafting and all the Stumps failed but I planted some non-grafted ones anyways … its too good to pass up.
Speaking of this tomato there are a few ripe ones, I’m going to go harvest them now…

I grew Stump a couple years (own roots) and was a big hit. Did you have disease issues on its own roots?

Where do you get tomato roots for grafting and what are the benefits?
So far, I’ve just started with tomato seeds and left them on their own roots.
I just finally successfully posted a picture after 1000 tries, I took it just now so you can enlarge and see if you see any diseases.
I’m not sure I mean we get ugly leaves, but usually our tomato plants don’t die until we get a freeze.
I did get a lot of blossom end rot on Opalka and I still don’t have a ripe one so I might not grow that one next year.
Companies make hybrid seeds specially for grafting, it’s for disease resistance which it sounds like you don’t have to worry about much

Thanks, I hadn’t even seen tomato rootstock seeds for sale before.
For me, Stump starts to fade around now on its own roots. It looks like one of my two plants is fading, the leaves are yellowing. Grafted ones last until frost.
@DragonflyLane I got my rootstock seeds from Johnnys, but other places also sell them. There are several long threads here on tomato grafting, just search those words using the magnifying glass thing.
I had a Stump tomato salad with dinner last night, yum
