Summer Grafting Asian Pear

Has anyone had success grafting asian pear budwood during the summer?

I don’t have any experience budding so my plan was just to do some cleft grafts.

I am located in socal zone 10b.

Here is a place to start. Yes you can graft this late.

Many know i’ve been using Plastilina for the last few years (Amazon.com) My theory was late season grafting fails are caused by the material used, methods, and not the time of the year. Technically there is no end to grafting season

Many people are making plans for next year’s grafting. Wanted to point out through the years I learned there is no end to grafting season. You can chip graft, bud , tbud or whatever. Tbud all summer long. Whatever I get done early makes me happy as it lessons the load in the hot summer time but technically you can graft starting in March and not ending until late August. If you have the materials your set keep right on grafting. Why wait until next year? If a technique was demonstrated…

I went through your thread earlier as well. I just wasn’t sure if there was a difference using summer budwood vs fresh greenwood cuttings or dormant scionwood.

I have used them all. Tbuds work best this time of year. Did you see the aluminum hats trick in my post? It works very good.
