The “effective pollination period” in fruit

Trees in full flower but the bees are not flying due to rain. To much wind? not enough wind? How long do you have before panic should set in? Found a study with the answers.

And you can cut that in half if it’s 80 degrees…or extend it a bit if it’s 45!

With many Chickasaw plum cultivars I estimate that you have about 3 days.

Mason bees are more cold hardy than honeybees.
get some mason bee colonies going.

bumbles are by far the most abundant pollinators here and work in as low as the 50’s.
