Ume (flowering apricot) ... Anyone growing them?

Looking at the pictures, I think it is fungi infection, not the bug bites

@JohnLivo, For insect damage where the leaf is eaten, I can usually find the insect responsible close to the damage area. Usually a caterpiller or beetle type. Also, insect frass is normally found in such cases.

The article about it says treat with “Fixed Copper in the Fall”. So there is nothing I can do to fight it until the Fall?

What exactly would I do in the Fall? Spray with copper before leaf fall, or after leaf fall?

I do have a copper product, not sure exactly though what Fixed copper would be.

Thank you for any help you can offer!

I have 4 Prunus mume in NW Philly. One definitely fruits some years, maybe a second one, but I really grow for the exceptionally early flowers. I believe it has a chill requirement, so blooming is very variable. Ie., if it gets warm early but hasn’t been really cold yet, it doesn’t start. I am certain I had flowers end January one year, but sometimes not til March. This year I gave away armloads of flowers in mid February. The latest blooming is a double white, but has a few random branches of pink. The most fragrant (cinnamon like) is a deep red. (Anyone wanting to use the fruits should get in touch.)
