Wanted to get some ideas. Things I saw on Amazon were:
- osmocote plus for $11
- multiple options for mini chainsaws between $50-100
- multiple options on grow lights, clippers, and gloves
Wanted to get some ideas. Things I saw on Amazon were:
Iām not interested an any Black Friday dealsā¦if rain stops, Iāll be building some flower beds around couple trees on Friday.
If enough people go shopping, maybe we finally reach āherd immunityā for the COVID virus.
On a more positive note, Iād look at a new chipper/leaf mulcher from a local merchant if I was to be out looking for bargains this weekend.
One of my checks did not reach a creditor last month, and I got a call today (of all things) that my vehicle insurance is past due.
NO BILL EVER ARRIVED and I forgot.
And, so, the mail or the shippers, might lose my bargain packages if I did online shopping on āBlack Fridayā. (Slow times are the best times to order or look for bargains, in my view.)
Amazon has a bunch of books are buy 2 get 1 free. I ordered a pond liner to make a larger bog garden for my pitcher plants and Venus fly traps. Who wants to help me dig?
Iāll help you dig in my mind, lol!
(I have more than one piece of EPDM rubber in my storage buildingā¦so maybe I help you and you help me?
I cleaned Loweās out of 21" pots that were on clearance around 6 bucks each yesterday. The guy working the garden center actually stopped to say thank you to me so he didnāt have to keep moving around the cart they were stored on.
As far as BF deals go, there are a few here-

Thrift Books has: 15% off used books of $5 or more. Use coupon code HOLIDAY21
Target has buy 2 get one free on books ending today I think. This thread might be helpful.
I made the mistake of giving Office Depot my new email addressā¦
14 emails in 60 hoursā¦
and I just unsubscribed and blocked!
Duhā¦do some people actually LIKE
all the sales junk to look at?
Temporary spam emails are sometimes worth the price if itās a good enough deal. I usually sign up as needed this time of year so I donāt miss out on stuff and then unsubscribe until the madness begins again. Although, I havenāt even considered going to a store this year. Online only and limited to stuff I have been wanting for a while, just better prices.
In my experience the best stuff does not go on sale for Black Friday. I waited for a pruning chainsaw last year and it never went on sale, this year I bought a grill and it said I saved 15 dollars off a thousand but that is nothing and ace hardware did not say it was on sale. In fact they said the grill was excluded from the discount coupons.
Fruit trees 50% offā¦is the sale I am looking for.
$12-15 trees are the regular price Iām looking for, not 50% off of a $75 dollar one. But, yeah, thatās the fruit-related sort of deal
to be looking for!
I hit the lumber/hardware store, local and not the ābig boxāā¦and I only bought the items I specifically stopped in for on Friday.
I ended up purchasing a bunch of new to me books, many of which were suggested on various threads-
Amazon mirrored the target B2G1FREE setup-
Pawpaws: The Complete Growing and Marketing Guide https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0865719551/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_CG7VQ3H60WA0DYDHCNHV
Northeast Foraging: 120 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Beach Plums to Wineberries (Regional Foraging Series) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1604694173/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_7FADTSBFXTFY2RNS0SEY
The Organic Gardenerās Handbook of Natural Pest and Disease Control: A Complete Guide to Maintaining a Healthy Garden and Yard the Earth-Friendly Way (Rodale Organic Gardening) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1605296775/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_TV3X60TVKMS9G9A82K18
And Thriftbooks FINALLY had this gem in stock-
Along with it I found-
And a few othersā¦ In total 11 books for around 130 bucks, most of which are going to help me grow fruit better. Iād say that is worth the price of entry, and possibly more valuable than new trees for my small space. Buying more trees wonāt do much good if the ones I already have arenāt healthy and happy. The Grafterās Handbook indirectly allows me to get trees āfor freeā, so it is a better deal than ācheap treesā in the long run.
AFAIK, the deals I posted above are still available until the end of the day.
Stark Bros has trees on sale right now. I know their pecan trees are typically 40-50 something dollars and are 29 dollars right now. The reason I am not buying them is because non of their pecans they have in right now are hardy to my zone. Plan to wait until I get my house for the other fruit trees seeing I have 3 pear trees on order and 2 cherry trees with already having 2 cherry trees and 4 peach trees.
Looking for a cheap grow light for starting seedlings? Based on what Iāve read this is a great option at half price Robot or human?
reference
This 4000k 2 pack shop light is also available. Robot or human?
Basically half off what Iāve paid for similar products in the past.
Deal of the day: VIVOSUN 10"x20.75" Seedling Heat Mat and Digital Thermostat Combo Set MET Standard https://a.co/d/9ydDR0T
Heat mat + thermostat on sale for $25
@disc4tw Does āThe Informed Gardener Blooms Againā contain the same information that is on her website (Linda Chalker-Scott | Washington State University)? Is it worth getting if all of the information is on the web?
I have not read the second book yet but as you said, it is likely that most of the information in the book is contained on the web already if you are willing to look. For the price I figured it was worth getting the books.
Those new LED lights are great. Also the newer shop lights are nice. I was at Ocean City Job Lot today and saw these. Even brighter at 8,000 lumens. Pickup locally or ship to store so you need to have a store in your area.
Growers Supply has 15% off for Black Friday.
