That looks like a pickle, which is usually pretty spicy. Amla itself is pretty sour and the added salt and chillies makes it quite strong.
We got our last cucumber off the vine last week. I believe this is the longest lived cucumber plant we have ever grown! ‘Tasty Green’ and one that was labeled ‘Japanese Cucumber’ at Home Depot. AND . . . we are still gathering tomatoes here and there. Also the longest tomato season we’ve ever experienced. I wish they had listed the variety on the tag of the Japanese Cucumber pot . . . it was my favorite this summer.
All things red this evening…
My ss 100 tomato has been producing for months now… still going. Also in the bowl… raspberries HR & JJ, strawberries eversweet, CHE.
Got to pick figs too…
Got deserts covered for dinner tonght.
Here’s a Nishimura Wase that softened early. It’s delicious even when not pollinated resembling Hachiya in quality. I could tell it wasn’t pollinated before slicing it open because the bottom of the fruit is flat.
My cucumbers are finally done and I’m ready to pull the old vines soon. I just plant pickling cukes. Tomatoes are still being picked but are well past their best time. My largest one is outside the greenhouse and hopefully will turn red soon. Peppers have done well too and i wish i had room to keep some over winter. String beans about done too. Now it’s time to deal with my Asian pears. Eat and store many and dehydrate a bunch.
Driving over to someones home to pick up an artwork original of my mom’s. The fellow died and his wife contacted me and offered me the piece. Curious to see it. Then home to pick grapes.
Still eating cherry tomatoes!
damn that’s some fine lookin’ 'maters!
The color in the fall is so strong. And they are soooo sweet.
Beautiful Miss Kim persimmons have been producing heavily and early. Already picked about 16 lbs, and there are multiple branches laden with fruit to pick. Loving this dwarf sweet Korean persimmon!
i
Jonathan makes a fine dried apple, which I learned only last year.
my butternut squash are almost there but the stem is still green. first frost predicted tom. night so ill have no choice but to pick.
My same problem also. I picked with a green stem because of frost. My Candystick Delicata ripened without issue though.
Lots of tomatoes still coming in, as others have said. We’re really blessed by this frost-free October thus far… it’s nice to be able to still taste summer.
