Eggs, assorted herbs, kale and Asian greens, fennel, and a bowl of pie cherries.
Invited the neighborhood kids to pick strawberries with my daughter

The deer cleared out all the leaves after my dog broke my fishing line fence lol
Rarely sweet, made for seedless jam.
I made in a tiny egg poaching pan some syrup, which was absolutely amazing. Was only about a tablespoon amount but blew my socks off. Canāt wait for next year to get hopefully enough for a jar of jam.
I get reminded every year how far behind we are in growing things due to a cold Spring season.
Recently we ate 2 zucchinis, some strawberries, a couple of Alaska peas and about 5 Provider greenbeans, and most of this was only possible due to getting a grow tent to get an earlier start than mother nature allows.
None of our fruit trees have ripe fruit, none of our cane berries have ripe fruit yet either. We will see what we get, our fruit trees/plants are young and those that do have fruit, do not have many but itās a start, at least.
Been noticing that myself. Iām zone 7, but I seem to be way behind all the other zone 7ās.
We have purple passion and millennium asparagus too - and ours are all super tall ferns and flowers now. We didnāt pick this year as they were just planted last year.
Strawberries, currants and cherry tomatoes.
This is a common reaction to people getting their first taste of black currant jam or syrup, yet it doesnāt exist as a commercial crop or product here in the U.S. Seems like black currants are just waiting for some one to commercialize them, although maybe theyāre still under the cloud of the laws restricting their growth.
Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, mulberries.
My spring raspberry crop is just finishing⦠blackberries just starting.
TNHunter
exactly! the states that they grow the best in still list them as illegal. hell, N.Y dropped their ban. if it was legal here, id definitlely grow acres of them. there are wild Ribes growing all over new england.
Strawberries, garlic scapes, mulberries, green beauty pea pods, lettuce, dwarf tomatoes, kale, chinese cabbage, spinach and asparagus.
I had honey Italian figs last month and found a few morels.
Nothing that made it into the houseāmulberries, black currants, gooseberries, the past of the peas, lambsquarterā¦grazing while doing chores.
Every year I propagate more black currants. I canāt get enough of them! Planning on making wine with some of them this year. My favorites are Titania and Minaj Smynou.
I planted a Minaj Smynou this spring
Iām sold on the currants lol. The best way to describe the stuff I made with the belarouska taste wise is like, blackberry mixed with grape, and something else that I canāt put my finger on, but even then it doesnāt really explain the flavor enough to give it justice.
I want to try a sauce on Chicken chicken sometime⦠But gonna be awhile
Some romanesco, strawberries, and cabbage I picked last night. Itās been the wettest, coolest spring weāve had in years here! Itās definitely keeping me on my toes as far as my organic spray regimen is concerned, but my brassicas havenāt seemed to mind at all. Finally got a couple decent sized romanesco, which I have struggled with as a spring crop in the past.
Wow, Iāve never heard of Romanesco and had to google it. What a beautiful vegetable.
Itās a stunning plant! Pretty tasty, too! The flavor is about halfway between broccoli and cauliflower. A little nutty, a little sweet. Iām definitely planning on starting some more for a fall crop!
