One more salad from the garden today… carrots, raspberries and loganberries (that were frozen back in June) shagbark hickory nuts… a few dandelion blossoms.

I had an Arkansas Black apple from the fridge…best one I’ve eaten to date. There’s a few still left. No dehydration, no rot. (Braeburn has not held up as well in storage…those being the only two I had extras of for storage this year.

My newest concoction, pineapple, yogurt, cashew nuts, and Meiwa Kumquat smoothie. Don’t know what it’s good for, but my ex-coworker said the Meiwa Kumquat is good to suppress coughing.

Satsuma mandarins. I’ve taken about 60 or so off the tree so far.

Yes, very. In some cases almost too sweet.

Kishus are flavor bombs here! As the guy says on the video, my family (both kids and adults) are addicted to Kishu. Not sure if they favor our coastal CA weather compared to other mandarins. In Central Valley (more chill, more heat), many favor Golden Nugget, although Satsumas are not far behind.

If I can find them in France I will. They do look a bit tedious to peel. But flavor is everything!

Picked these on Friday, January 14, zone 7 after several nights dropping to single digits. Greens, little cabbages and collards. The greens are under greenhouse plastic but the other two were out in the open and handled the cold well. Nice to have continued greens this late into the year, especially after seeing the prices of wilty heads of lettuce from supermarket.
