Ahh, that makes sense. I guess that is where I have been confused, because I assumed there is a male and a female tree for persimmons, similar to how pussy willows have a male and female tree (I have a male in my front yard). Nature is strange sometimes.

Females alone are seedless.
Females in the wild where male persimmons gather, have seeds. Of course the male trees do not have fruit.
Some female trees are hermaphroditic. It’s these Three examples of how and why persimmons persist.

I thought most female Virginiana are fruitless if alone. The ones that can fruit alone, seedless.
The named kaki females fruit without seeds. I don’t know if random female kaki seedlings are likely to produce fruit that are seedless, or if they are fruitless without pollination.

Post a pic of this apple. There is actually a black Macintosh. I’m assuming you’re seeing dark skin. Any staining?
