Growing fruit is always a trial and error event no matter where you live. You learn as you go. Unfortunately with fruit trees you learn your mistakes or successes years after you plant them.

Growing fruit is a hands on learning experience.

Yeah, that’s what nurserymen say. These are the guys who can barely label the whips they are selling and whose spelling is a conceptual endeavor. I maintain that an intellectual approach can be surprisingly successful if only because it’s counterintuitive.
