Wow Drew, so sorry.
Thanks! Well I’m alive, and I appreciate everything a lot more. I feel lucky, and I can walk enough to get most things done. So I’m good!
To get back on subject today I’m trying to root fig cuttings today. My indoor plants all look great! I still have sweet peppers in the garage, the plants look OK. I can’t give them light though till tomorrow. I was thinking I may try to keep these alive all winter.
Here’s a view of my Japanese maple tree today. Nadia Cherry-plum hybrid to the right. Satsuma plum to the left.
We definitely got over a foot of snow on Sat. This was taken 10am in the morning my back yard and the snow did not stop till 3 in the afternoon.
Rain in Newport, last night and today. Waiting to plant the last of my tulips for next spring and finish orchard clean up. Little left to do thank goodness, oh, and prune the roses.
Beautiful!
We had 14" of snow when I went to bed at 11:00 and woke up to about 10" of snow. It was melting and settling down over night. That’s all gone now. It’s going to be one of those weird winters.
Derby,
What are the flowers in your avatar?
When I joined here I chose that photo just to see if anyone would ask. That is a small shrub that is growing wild in the woods next to my parents yard. It’s an eastern wahoo , those are red seed pods hanging down. I guess I will have to pick a new one now.
Supposed to be 64 degrees tomorrow. Hope my trees don’t bloom!
Christmas presents are all done. Just waiting for the kids.
No white Christmas in RI. Temps in the 60’s and will continue raining for the next three days. Many leaves are still on my trees as we’ve had little wind. (unusual for us!) Merry Christmas all!
70F? Wow…i wonder if some of your trees won’t start waking or maybe you haven’t had enough chill hours? I’m going to have a million chill hours because our temps have been stuck between 30F and 45F for what seems like the whole month.
Not much heat up here but the avg for the month is +14F above normal…so its been very mild by Wisconsin standards. I still have potted trees sitting outside. RAIN RAIN RAIN…seems like it won’t stop raining. We had over 3 inches of rain about a week ago and now today its been raining again. December is the cloudiest month here and its been living up to that. Christmas day should be sunny and near 40F so i plan on potting up a bunch of seedlings.
No white Christmas here neither in Chicago land, reach 60 today. No complains.
Misty rain changing into tornado forecast this afternoon.
They radar indicated tornadoes just south east of here this morning. Crazy weather for Christmas but I can’t complain about the warm weather
Made an apple pie with Mom yesterday- an early Christmas celebration.
We ate it today with family. Cortland apples made the filling.
Matt,
That is a piece of art. I bet it tasted great, too.
Now that is beautiful!!!
I just planted a Cortland, can’t wait to bake with them! Looks very nice!
