What's happening today?

When visiting a guy in Fremont,CA,a little over a year ago,he gave me,along with some Pawpaws, part of a Passion Fruit,Passiflora Edulis.I kept and planted the seeds and a few sprouted. The plant grew fairly slowly in a greenhouse this year. After putting the pot in a kitchen window for the Winter, there has been some growth and I noticed this morning,a flower has bloomed. The flower is beautiful. What is the possibility of it fruiting?

They are fairly simple to hand pollinate. When trying with this flower,I couldn’t see any pollen on the anthers though. It could be,being young and the first flower, there isn’t any. But,this gives me hope that next year there will be more and the possibility of fruit. Brady

Here are some pictures that I took from a walk on my property on Dec.23. As you can see it has been very warm here in Maine Zone 5A. No frost in the ground, no snow, and green things still growing. It looks like all of that will be changing tomorrow, but after last winter the warmer temps have been a welcome relief and will make it much easier to get through the rest of the winter.

Just dumped 4 1/4 inches out of the rain gauge. Weather man says its going to keep raining until Monday. Glad I live on top of a hill.

I talked to my parents this evening, they started keeping a rain total in March of 2015 and they have a total of 60 inches as of today.

Still raining…

Up to a foot of snow possible…probably more like 6 inches…could be a complete bomb i guess too…never trust forecasts for snow total…even the day before.

Rob,

We got 9" of snow Christmas Eve and at mid night today the weatherman is predicting another 6-10" more of snow. I don’t want anymore.

Just dumped out four more inches out of the rain gauge. Still raining …

Dumped out another 1 1/2 inches , looks like the rain is about over. Just under ten inches since Saturday. Wish I could send it to some one that needed it. If took me an hour to drive home from my parents yesterday. They only live six miles away but every road I tried to get through was flooded until I went clear around to major highways.

Tony, Christmas without snow here seems missing something, you lucky got a white Christmas. Chicagoland is warm, no snow, no rain. I am not complaining about the weather, but just don’t feel it is Christmas.

Drove through Omaha twice yesterday for a blood delivery in Kearney. Very humid, nasty nw wind. The radio said 9", did you get it? We got about 7" in dsm. Hope you got all your winterization projects fiinished, looks like winter finally showed up.

Yes, all the winterization projects finished. We got around 7" of snow with wind gust at 25 mph. Looking forward to Spring.

Sleet and snow yesterday. But luckily, no ice on the road in the morning , all turned into slush.

It is not raining today.

9 inches here…seems like a lot. I’m good now for awhile.

finally drying out here. We got almost 8 inches of rain then sleet snow on top of that. I had just planted 4 new trees christmas eve day and then all the rain came and watered them in nicely.

Mine was all snow…no sleet up here…I see one local place got 12 inches of snow.

I don’t own a snowblower (that is going to change soon)… shoveling sucks.

We got 8" total. Shoveling does suck!
