Who among you grows white kiwi, also called hairy kiwi (Actinidia eriantha)?
I grafted a male and a female last year. It looks very promising. It also seems to survive the cold well.

Obviously no one has any.
Maybe not, but I suspect several of us with interest in other kiwis will be delighted to see your progress and the temptation it affords.
Edit: The system auto-edited out that this was a response to @Arhus76’s comment that others seeemed not to have this fruit. It’s a short thread, so probably obvious, but it was still left unmoored which is not how I want my posts to be.
I’m growing many kiwis. But kiwibob is the kiwi king.kiwibob has eriantha. He has been growing them for atleast 30 years.
New kiwi, probably an actinidia hybrid with large fruits weighing 130 grams.
Walter 2 variety, female flowers only.
The graft was made onto an Eriantha grafted in 2024 to maximize success.
The fruits pictured are from this variety.
Following with great interest!
I find it interesting/amusing that White Kiwi has such pretty red flowers!
It produces white branches and the fruits are often white too. I have grafted several varieties. I have the Jade variety for example which produces white cylindrical fruits. Like in this photo.
A Russian friend just confirmed that the varieties I received are pure Eriantha, not hybrids. You’ll find the discussion with the link on my FB profile. You can learn more.
These are the latest Chinese selections. I just discovered they’re protected by a patent.
The fruits are 4 to 6 times larger than wild Eriantha.
Here is Kiwibob’s flower. He sent this photo yesterday. He thinks they could be a variety of colors, light pink or salmon as you have.
Alright, who reported my Dave Chappelle meme
