Wildlife in our gardens

Something similar in this region that manages to live on lichens. I see them every few years, probably because I don’t spend enough time in the woods. One lepidopterist said the wild coloring acts as a warning they are toxic. Huh.

This is one of the bobcats that live on my property. We picked him up on camera this last winter when he walked across the open hay field. The people who put up the hay thought it was larger than a bobcat. It is a big one but it is a bobcat. Mountain lions have a really long tail. There are mountain lions here as well, though they are rare. The mountain lion i saw here had a very long tail that kind of hooked up at the end. Two deer came speeding through tonight.

IT HASN’T EVEN RIPENED :sob: this thing has been taking my green berries and anything with a hint of red.

Never seen this type of bird before until just a few days ago when one landed in front of me, looked at me, and flew off. Now I’m seeing them all day

Thank you, they are friendly as well but mannnnn i just wish they would at least wait for things to ripen. They’ve been cleaning out my fuschias.

Every few years I have a “pet” brown Towhee. I don’t feed it directly, but it will take up a perch nearby and occasionally provide a chirp or two of encouragement. This goes on until the Fall and then they are off somewhere for winter.
