But then the fruit wouldn’t crack. Unless you overwatered the tree. The fruit is quite big too, so it is close to, if not ripe.
I see, its possible it is mislabelled. I bought it from FourWinds and had a DWN tag that it is Parfianka. I will watch it for one more season and top work it.
Similar here - Guavas and (last of the) figs keep me interested until the persimmon season starts here! I get bags of Jiro fuyus dumped by my neighbors until I turn orange
How do they taste for you? Every time I buy pepinos in the store, they’re pretty uninspiring.
Hello my friend! My plants have very good quality. The usual ones are more sweet that purple, but my golden pepinos are sweet with pear/melon flavour. We love them!
But pepino melon have very variable flavour.
Those are the best looking Moonglow I have seen. Glad they were sweet.
Very nice. Those things are like $2 a fruit here.
Same here, more like $2.50 at Costco. But the fruits are huge and from mature trees in California orchards. I really like them and buy 2-3 cases (of 8) every year. If they are not as expensive, I’ll buy more. I also like the slow process of deseeding them as much as the fruit, nice stress buster
The fruit does not look like Parfianka. Parfianka’s skin is usually much darker red.
With Wonderful, the darker are the seeds the better is the flavor. If you have more fruits on the bush and they are not splitting, I would wait longer.
I am soooooooooo with you on that! Like a puzzle. My kids think I’m NUTS . . . but I put on nitrile gloves sometimes, when I eat poms . . . because they stain my nails black! At least the Wonderfuls do. And the acid makes my hands ‘feel funny’ . . . (don’t tell anyone about the gloves, OK?) They might come for me with a white jacket.
What kind of dog is your companion?
A border collie mix.
How do you like the Frost Peach?
Time to start a new thread.
I like it a lot . Delicious not too sweet and my wife loves its flower color.
Just created new thread for 2021 !
