Is it regarding the item that you have purchased from our website?

Just open the link, it is a problem that several members of my forum are having with ARS gardening tools from Amazon. You are not policing your vendors adequately.

Then go to www.growingfruit.org and search the topic amazon pruner scam. I’ve devoted all the time I’m gong to on this. It’s up to you to try to straighten this out. I didn’t order a counterfeit pruner but other members did. Thousands of members are reading about this, so maybe you should too.

5:47 AM

No follow up reply- big surprise.

Lol you expect a CS rep to read some random forum thread?

Yes, if it is about a counterfeit product and I say it is a forum with thousands of members. LOL, God I hate the expression when it is used as an insult. Even if it isn’t, it seems like one. The young no longer use it, do they?

Incidentally the rep says they are gong to call me.

The problem is AMAZON. If you guys want a REAL ARS pruner, don’t buy it on AMAZON. If you insist on buying it on Amazon, you’re going to get a chinese knock off. I don’t care who the seller is or what picture they show. IT’S A CHINESE KNOCK OFF !!

That’s the conclusion I came to last night.

When Walmart is selling the same pruners for about twice the cost, I’m thinking something smells funny. Nobody beats Walmart that badly on identical products (whether you like Walmart or not, it’s true)

Tsunami nearing Japan and earthquake they think is a 7.3. Might get your ars pruners at home depot as mentioned and quickly. Let’s hope the people of Japan are ready. Hoping the best for them!

So Home Depot has the ARS pruners? If so I need to look. I ordered a pair of these through Amazon BEFORE I saw all the information about knockoff Chinese versions being sold on Amazon.Ugg. I need a good pair now since it is time to do some pruning.

I tried looking online at the recommended store that sells the ARS pruners but I did not see this model listed. Perhaps it is an older model or that is has been replaced with another model now.
Tough to find certain things without buying fake products.

I’m going to buy one when someone tells me what’s real. I didn’t realize they are only 30 and 40$. That’s incredible, to me.

I’m ready to buy.

I don’t believe the real ones can be had at those prices.

I buy from eBay and Amazon. If they’re exorbitantly more-expensive right now I’ll wait. I was under a impression they were 60 or 70, but not from this thread.

Okay, thanks,

I’ll wait.

I’m going to buy another Okatsune, first. I love the way it snaps when it cuts. It echoes around my property.

Thanks, anyway.

It appears that Zenport has ā€œdesignedā€ more knockoffs than just the grafting tool. This looks like it is probably what the Chinese ARS pruners actually are.

Had no problem finding a Japanese seller on Amazon. For under $30 got this set of ARS pruners which is not a bad price or a bargain either. There are a dozen shady sellers to every good one today. As soon as they get removed more show up!

You know they’re a Japanese seller how? You know the pair that seller sends you is made in Japan and not China how?

@smsmith

Will post more once I get the pruners. There are several ways i analyzed the sellers to find the authentic seller. The premium Japan shop has an address in Japan. In addition they have been in business for years with a high user rating. The other 11 or more shops I looked at were not in Japan. The price was $10 more than the $18 knock offs which have a long shipping time. This is an amazon choice seller and will have them here by this weekend. They don’t have more in stock it is their last pair. Got to kiss alot of frogs to find these pruners! There are other Japanese sellers who have some but they are running out. Asked ARS if they will let me buy wholesale where everyone could buy some at a fair price. Even then shipping might make that impossible. We might need to find a dozen + people in our area and order as a group to make it worth it. https://www.arscorporation.jp/
As an example here is another Japanese seller on Amazon. They are selling the same pruners which i believe would be authentic as well. Not as many ratings so it’s riskier

The great cross country ARS pruner group order thread in the making… It might put the logistics of the Hartmanns order to shame  What say you @lordkiwi? Ready for another round of fruit related arbitrage?

I sharpened up a few sets of old pruners today and tried them out on a wild hawthorn. Good enough for me and the price was right. Someday I do want a quality pair of pruners though.
