Tangos peach
Congratulations. Those look healthy and promising.
Sometimes, for me on my young trees, the flowers don’t progress past that stage before aborting. Also, young persimmons may drop fruit before maturing.
I’m not trying to be a wet blanket, just tempering expectations. Hopefully you will get some great fruit this fall.
The unknown species of poppies that came with the house have started blooming in earnest:
At first I had assumed they were California poppies, based on the color and the fact that those are a common sight around here, until I looked closer at them. My working theory is maybe Spanish/Moroccan poppies (same species), or maybe one of a few species from Eastern Europe, but there are so many types of poppies that I gave up on an accurate ID.
Your totem pole could use a little art though.
Its a simple California Poppy. So pretty. They self seed!
That’s what I thought at first, but look at the leaves – very different!
While the color is close, that’s definitely not California poppy
I’m jealous of your chore! It’ll be a little while before I can gripe about that chore myself, though I’m excited to see what the fruit from this volunteer/seedling patch is like:
You are right, I paid no attention to the leaves. Sorry!
Took a walk around… on my lunch hour…
1… Front porch flowers
2… CHE fruit developing
3… Red gem goumi galore
4… Black rasp… primos out the top
5… Heritage reds loading up.
6… Jujube … hope to get some this year
