It could be 22-gallon, I got it from Costco a while back. I have a small yard so I don’t want to plant the avocado in the ground, it could take over my yard.
So here is the update on my bit of land. I got a TON of pineberries! What is neat is the birds only want red, as do children, so I am getting all the berries that the baby slugs don’t. Seems fair to me.
I heard baby chickadees that hatched in our patio birdhouse. The parents are very happy living there.
I have good news. Two peony plants are growing. One was the lovely one my gramma loved, and unsure which the other is. It will be another year or two before it blooms. It appears that the management may have given up on digging out my things? Their inferior plants, some died, and so it is ironic.
Also good news is the lovely flat iris has bloomed too. I thought I had pulled it all up as did they. But ah, it is a water loving plant and it must have had a tiny piece or two remaining. I am very happy about this.
Also out of seed or root, I have now 2 grape vines growing. I am sure I cannot keep them, and no trellis as they took mine. So I will have to see which local person would like good seeded purple grapes.
My either boysenberry or marionberry, unsure which survived, is growing as well. It has brains! Last year to avoid being murdered like it saw all it’s neighbors it grew low and flat to the ground, and usually canes shoot upwards and curve. This was very odd, and very very smart. It worked. And now that the strawberries practically cover it, I think it will survive. Well done, Mr. Berryman!
Sadly it is so long ago I got it, prior to 2009, I have no idea. I only know I bought it at the Clark County Garden and Home Idea Fair from a nursery vendor from somewhere in Washington or Oregon state.
Rabbit eye… tifblue blueberries… very good.
Novamac apple on b9 in the background… it is growing nicely looks happy.
Honeydew melon, what variety, who knows, but my melon bed is full of melons, the bees are doing a great job of pollinating.
last year these made one lonely leaf.
the first rose on the climber opened today
this avocado graft is making a leaf or bud and I’m really excited about it.
Podpiper, wishing my yard/garden look like yours! What a setup!!
The mystery seedling strawberry is getting into peak season, very tasty and just the right softness for my 9 month old to chomp on them easily:
looks like earliglow . my galleta is ripening now which makes sense as its parent is earliglow. they have similar flavors but galleta produces bigger berries and produces a little more. if i can keep the stink bugs out of there i should get a decent crop.
@Naeem … I seem to be a few weeks ahead of you.
Found this on my Shanxi Li jujube today…
Both of my jujubes are still blooming but both have some fruit set too. This is year 3 for mine and first fruit.
I haven’t been able to find any neighbors growing any kind of strawberries, and I’ve checked with neighbors on my block and the one across my alleyway. I do see plenty in the broader neighborhood (3+ blocks away), so who knows where the bird that planted this under my privet tree picked up the seeds! I’m very happy with the flavor, though, so I’ll be spreading new starts from it all over the yard.
