Clark's Crabapple

Were the seeds dark brown? Flyspeck has no impact on taste IMO.

We will all be excited to see the harvest! I’m really interested in how they do in zone 8-10.

I bought 2 whips of Clark’s Crab from 39th Parallel 2 years ago. I harvested 50 tasty crabs from one and 26 from the other this year. The lower fruiting crab was in a 3-gallon ground pot, the other in the ground.
Very pleased with both the originally shipped whips and with their productivity and their taste.

I have 3 crab like apples and 3 LT’s to order from Mike. Looks like he has changed his trees around this year. Wanted Jefferis and Winter Banana too. But they are not on the list. See he has added new types though.

Anyone else noticing that ‘Clark’s Crab’ has good fall color? In my area a lot of apple trees don’t get noteworthy fall color, so it has stood out to me.

Here’s our Clark’s Crabapple, and the adjacent King David. I expect the fruit will take another month or so to ripen. Apples here typically have partial leaf fall in March-April.

I’m not sure how ripe this is. There are little hints of green among the yellow.
