How is your weather? (Part 2)

Clouds and humidity moved out, it’s great out there!

Looking west at the Minnesota bluffs. Dying storm cell came right thru this area as the sun was setting this evening. A+ weather today with lower humidities and mild temps. Rains missed us most of the day so we got lucky. Cool Canadian high pressure rules until next week.

Gusty today.

Warm. Loving being outside, harvesting fresh green things. The last of our cool nights are upon us. Soon it will be balmy.

Past few days have been A+ weather. 70fs, low humidity, sunshine and some wind. Another one today and tomorrow (drops into the mid 40Fs tonite). Rain chances come back mid week with warmer/humid air. Still not seeing any prolonged heat//just seasonal temps in this area.

We’ve been the opposite, days not getting out of the 50’s and nights in the 40’s with constant drizzle (but we needed the rain). Grass had finally slowed down, but now it’s shooting up again but it’s too wet to mow.

Wah! I’m south of Houghton about 30 min. Not sure if there is much damage, will check tonight when I get home. Supposed to be 80 in a couple days. :stuck_out_tongue:

Best to you! Was chatting with wife and we agreed a greenhouse would be a must by you. Hope it warms up!

Thanks. I have a high tunnel frame, but haven’t got it set up yet. We usually do pretty good on getting the veggies in, but definitely need short season varieties.

Oh, wow, you didn’t get much, we were just under 1.5" the last 4 days. Now I’m ready for some sun so I can try the new sprayer.

Coming up to the 90s in a week. Definitely summer. The cicadas will go crazy in that much heat.

On Fri 7 Jun 2024, I declared biofix for the first flight of codling moths at 400 growing-degree-days Fahrenheit here in Sheboygan, WI. That’s a little high, I think. It was 324 GDDF on 5 Jun 2021, and 300 GDDF on 6 Jun 2023 (I didn’t record other years. At this time of the year, we’re accumulating as much as 15 GDDF/day.), so about the same date but warmer this year. Nights have been cool, however, so codling moths haven’t felt like mingling up to now. A cover spray in four or five days is indicated though.

What to do about curculios? I think Wed will be a warm evening, and I may nuke them with Pyganic as a preemptive measure.

BTW, it is officially too late to thin apples in Sheboygan, WI, as I finished doing that yesterday.

Nws in Miami says 10-15 inches of rain (or more) could fall across parts of S Florida the next few days. Flood watch for the southern half of Florida.

Low 70fs here again, storms tomorrow…warmer mid week.
