Southeastern VA - We need rain!
It is a double-edged sword, though. Too much - too quick - not good.
I put in some irrigation - but mowers tore it to shreds.
Back to ringing trees with soaker hoses in a pinch - and watering 2-3 at a time.
UGHHHHHHHH!
been pretty dry here. occasional showers have saved us but record heat the last 3 days has me out in the evenings watering everything.
I’m not terribly far from you. It’s the same here, no rain. This is the driest June we’ve had in a long time. La niña summer… I’m not a fan.
wow! looks like June of 2020 here. you guys get any rain this month?
Eastern NC hasn’t. Last rain storm was in May. Looks like we might get some Sunday.
first monsoon rains this afternoon here in Tucson
The 108 degree heat has combined with the moisture off the sea of Cortez to give us our first rain in months
Looks like we swapped. Hadn’t had any rain in March, April, May, but now we get evening rain nearly every night.
Called for rain all day today…maybe some mist. Staying away for now. Tomorrow/Sat still appear to be a washout.
Yep, exactly that. The big high pressure dome sitting over the eastern US right now is funneling all that Gulf moisture to south Florida. Y’all are getting all the rain that’s meant for Kentucky through Georgia…
Wow, a-Vivaldi . . . that IS dry! We are still green here . . . but the scorchers are on their way and should arrive . . . tomorrow! Temps near 100. At least the last few days have had a lovely cool breeze. And no humidity. But, hey . . . this is Virginia and Muggy is its middle name.
I hate the hot hot summer. My Ukrainian genes just can’t take it.
we just got done with 4 days in the 90’s. 1 was near 100. im with you Karen. my northern French lineage hates the heat. at least if its cold you can add clothes. im a heavy sweater so high humidity is very uncomfortable, thank God for a/c!
Rain this morning, but heaviest fell north. More rain coming from west but heaviest stays north…for now. Not good for river levels. Already forecasted to 14ft (major flooding is 15.5ft). Very humid, but temps have been mild…70Fs to around 80f. The gnats and mosquitos are horrible.
Major rainfall in southern MN today.
Not a drop here, we needed a break in rainfall amounts.
Rain, no rain, thunder, no rain. Steamy
About 1/3 of an inch but more on its way…nws says localized areas could see 6+ inches.
River continues to go up. Very high flow right now. River boat was still able to dock this morning. Gorgeous day…humidity dropped overnight, temps in the 70Fs.
Close to 100 all week, we need rain bad
Had about 4 in of rain in the last week. We were 96 last Monday. Then the rain came and our heat unit gains slowed to a crawl. Been getting 5 or 6 a day for the last several days. Coming week looks better, as now we have plenty of rain, and we’re supposed to be getting in the 70s and 80s again.
