Cold! 70’s!
At one point i had 89F in my car today. This is just dumb at this point. The Mississippi river temp is 72F and people are still swimming. This should continue right into early October. I can’t ever remember swimming in October (outside).

Low to mid 80s here until Sunday
3 years ago we had a week of low 80’s in the 1st week of oct. my brother was guiding for moose that week. it damn near killed him getting those moose dressed out and out of the woods to a butcher before they spoiled. his hunters harvested 7 that week. my brother and the 2 other guides working for him, earned their money that week. it was also muggy with no breeze to make it even worse. i attempted to grouse hunt that week and noticed the friggin’ mosquitos were out.

My eyeballs hurt, its grey outside but not rainy, its kinda chilly and windy and its late September. Must be a hurricane nearby.

83 today. 86 Friday. 87 Saturday, then 60s next week.
I’m not sure why 83 in early October in central MN feels hotter than 83 in SW FL in February, but it does

I think it has to do with the angle of the sun at our higher latitudes. Feels like your whole body is getting broiled, instead of just the top of your head.

Too early in southern France to get cold but it is. Blankets are now on the back of every café chair! 60’s (70’s during the day). 50’s at night!
I doubt much hunting is happening yet. It’s like summer every day. I had 87F again in the car yesterday.
It rained overnite. No chance in the forecast. Hot again today. Records maybe for some areas. Front Monday (rain). High pressure all next week. Temps in the 60Fs for highs. Should feel a lot nicer.

we had another 31f frost this morning. went hunting up in the allagash. took 4 ruffed grouse , saw 10. my dog found out the yellow jackets arent dormant yet. stuck his nose in a hole in the bank and got swarmed. poor buggers ears were all swollen. beautiful near 70 day with near peak colors. warming up over the weekend with a chance at 80 mon. then going back to normal 50’s again.

Downtown La Crosse. Car is usually pretty accurate.
Record today is 91F in 1997 but temp is taken at airport (cooler) and highest temp in October is 93F in 1963.

Suddenly soil moisture meters have stopped signalling extreme dryness. Evidently my irrigation has finally caught up with orchard needs. Perhaps the grass and the trees have started hardening off in spite of the unseasonably warm weather.
81 on my back patio right now.
Tomorrow should be back to hoodie and shorts weather

89F here yesterday. I think the tsunami winds kept the temp down. The river was as busy as it was on a July weekend. Looks like the cloud band/rain is just reaching Minneapolis. Tomorrow back into the 60Fs until Friday. Normal high temp tomorrow is 67F. October 1st avg hi temp is 69F and drops to 54F by Halloween. Really starts plummeting the second half.

We had the neighborhood Oktoberfest block party yest. It was up to near 90, but the low dewpoint and the cooling breeze made it totally pleasant in the shade.
