Looking for 4 gal sprayer

Hey guys/gals … I’m looking for a backpack sprayer that doesn’t leak! I have a chapin that is being returned. Total garbage. What do you guys suggest ? I just want a pump sprayer, not battery UNLESS you know a battery one that is a must have. On this chapin the top lid leaks and so does the hose at the tank. Looking to spend no more than $200.
Any tips appreciated

ahh… dont tell me that. i just bought one but its called the professional. has a heavy duty wand with brass hardware. got it at a local discount store. sometimes you get great deals for cheap or occasionally you get a dud. only paid $65. reg price was $89. havent used it yet so ill let you know soon.

I like the Sprayers Plus Jet Agitated 4 gallon sprayer for wettable powders. It is Not a battery powered one. $199 Had mine for three years with no issues. Handles tank mix of Imidan, Captan and Topsin with ease.

Yup. Thing sucks ass. My back was soaked at the end of it.

Thanks man. Looking into it now.

I’m happy with Solo. Using their 4-7.5ft extension wand (TELESCOPIC SPRAY TUBE 48" - 92" 4900445) to reach above my trees.

I have had 4 different brands of these things. The “round up” brand did the best, but that was probably just luck- I can’t say it was better designed or had better quality really…but it lasted longest. To be honest all of them had issues and didn’t last all that long. And I think they all leaked onto my back and rear end. Seeing @jerryrva s post makes me want to try a 5th one. All the ones I’ve had came from Lowes, tractor supply, etc and were about the low quality you’d expect. My most recent one called itself “commercial grade” and was a Dewalt brand. THose 2 things lulled me into buying it but once again, basically junk.

Hey thanks for the info. I was looking at the DeWalt but now I’m more inclined to look at the one the other guy posted about. I just don’t understand how something used for chemicals can leak so bad …in so many brands and models. Bonkers.

I love my my4sons battery sprayer. Basic, reliable, no problems and good customer support if you need it. I think it’s about $230 and well worth it. I’ll never buy a different brand.

I’ll take a look at that one. I appreciate the my4sons info.

Stihl SG 20 is a great sprayer, parts can be ordered, spray doesn’t run through the pump. Well priced at $140. It was very dependable for me, lid and hoses sealed well. I was spraying up to 300 trees with it before I moved on to power sprayers.

I still like this battery one I posted earlier. In my mind battery has two big benefits - less parts, and always a diaphragm pump. A third benefit here is a known & replaceable battery.

Looks like another one to investigate further. I want something simple to use and to take care of.

I have had a DB Smith field king for 9 years and haven’t had any issues with it. The pump is internal, so no leakage. Comes with three or four different tips. I have put untold hundreds of gallons through it, and it just keeps on working. No leaking ever.

I actually see these being used by some landscaping maintenance companies.
