Decided to try rooting a branch I had pruned off a seedling in my yard. Trimmed it down like this, made a shallow slice down one side, brushed with hormone, and buried most of the stem in a Steuwe deepot:

Fruitwood(Marc) says that rooting loquats from cuttings should be easy.
