86F/69F right now. Might as well be July. AC been on for a week now. No relief until late week. Avg hi temp today is 76F. Looks like we don’t see that until Fri.
We never got the heat. Highs only up to about 80 and dropping at nite. Not so bad.
Hardest downpour in weeks/months? this afternoon. For how dry it has been we could use it.
Another downpour this morning. No cold air anywhere in sight but the extended does look wetter.
Still crazy humid.
Los Angeles could get some heavy rain from a dying tropical storm. They also will be very humid (for that area).
Back on the drought map again. Trees are coloring early, giving up on the year. Supposed to get some rain this weekend but it doesn’t look like much.
Been having pretty heavy mid-afternoon to evening storms. 2.5 inches yesterday, an inch the day before , 3inches over the weekend.
I don’t remember what hurricane-less September weather is like to know if this is normal or not. I feel like we’ve either had a storm or had a storm suck everything away for the past 5-6 years.
its been super dry here as well. mid 70’s now but supposed to.bomb to upper 50’s over the weekend with some showers then sunny and back to lows 70’s next week. other than a lack of rain weve had probably the best summer weather wise in a long time. mid 20’s sun. am should end the growing season.
Mid 20’s? That’s to bad. We have had one light frost here, but that was negligible. 10 day looks pretty good. Weather wise it has been a good summer here, with plenty of rain. Not much fruit though. Spring weather was stupid. Snow, next week hit the 90’s, then cold again and wet when everything had jumped to blooms.
they changed it to 33 now. maybe get lucky. either way my watermelons are done.
Our long range shows zero chance of frost all the wsy until early October. We missed all the earlier local frosts thankfully. Looks like we can continue eating BLTOs for a while yet.
Upper 70Fs, dews in the 60fs and a little rain again this morning. Much wetter pattern this past week. Extended continues to look wet/temps in the 70Fs and lows around 60Fs. Above normal for this time of year.
No cold in sight
Did you get any harvested?
Horrible drought here. We have not had any rain for about 4 to four weeks, in my area. Lots of ponds and especially steams are super low. temps were really nice about two weeks ago, in the 70’s. Now it is back up into the high 80’s but the humidity is at least not too high.
We are “supposed” to get rain here Sunday night and the next few days after that. Of course the weather people have been wrong before. We do need rain desperately bad. Things are drying up pretty quickly. It is drying the crops pretty quickly but the fruit is cooking on the tree from just the high heat and no rain.
That moisture made it up here yesterday and made for an unusually wet pick this morning. September rain isn’t all that rare here, but today’s event was what farmers here call “nuisance rain,” i.e. rainfall that is too little to wet things down enough to end fire season or irrigate crops but just enough to make everyone working in it miserable and cause fruit to rot.
Spent most of the day in damp clothes since I didn’t think it was actually going to rain. Luckily the system was tropical in origin and not too cold.
Looks like another chance of moisture coming into S California tues/weds next week.
Had about an inch over the last 3 days. Very nice going into fall
i got 6 orange glo from basketball sized to volleyball size off of 2 vines i started from seed outdoors in early june. bad soil killed my seedlings i started indoors in may… the 1st one i picked 10 days ago was a little under ripe so hopefully these are better. frost killed the vines last night.
Had .3 last night in a heavy rain and now this morning another probably about that in a heavy rain. Getting rain daily now it seems. Looks like it dries out by Tues as everything shifts east==after that it looks like a pretty good dry stretch.
next week is starting to finaly shift to a wetter pattern with showers predicted about every day.
Last week i found the biggest seedless watermelon ever at Sams Club. The container showed they came from Michigan. It was a monster for a seedless–my wife was laughing because it was so big in the cart. It was very good, but i’ve had better. Kids all liked it.
