This year? I’m not expecting that…
Here’s a quick tour of my home orchard in northern Utah…
- About 4500’, Zone 5b/6a, mid-May to mid-October growing season, hot/dry summers, various forms of irrigation, 1/3 acre in a college town
- I’ve been growing fruit here for 12 years before finding this forum. I’m struck by how much harder it seems to grow fruit elsewhere…we have fewer problems with our climate. For the first 6-7 years I didn’t really treat anything for pests and accepted sub-optimal, but abundant fruit.
- I’ve added 20 or more trees this year alone, so most of the things in cages haven’t fruited yet…the mule deer are relentless.

Everything look really great! Congratulations!
I didn’t like Suhosine Mulberry (Debregeasia edulis) at all! I will take it down. Too small fruits with grassy flavour and just a bit sweet. A lot of seeds inside too.
It looks like che its sad it seems to taste like che
Very nice looking orchard. Lots of fruits soon.
What tastes like che? Che is great! I have it last year and it’s very good… this year my che is full.
Oh great to hear that! Everyone seems to bad mouth che
I like it a lot and my wife too. It taste like watermelon + mulberry and it’s sweet and juicy… and by the way very very healthy! I think they like hot weather and water.
By the way my lotus plants are growing very well… i’m starting to get lotus crazy!
First fruits on my Red Ivory mango tree. I doubt they will take but it’s great to see her fruit so early…
It’s this variety… maby sooner than later!
Wow, that mango looks amazing. If I lived in Portugal I would grow at least 10 mango trees.
It would be well worth to protect them the few days in the winter when they need it. If you ever trim it please keep some scions aside for me.
