That wasn’t the issue at all, not with the incident that primarily turned me off to this forum, but I doubt the moderators would even allow me to quote and describe what they did, so I won’t bother (unless they want to invite me to do so), but I won’t really continue to contribute to the forum either.
The way you grow pears is clearly the right way. I’m impressed not just with your choice of varities but how well you have grown them.
The abate fetel photos you posted are mouth watering and i have a tree full of these pears!
Your post showing you taking bites out of them makes me want them to hurry up and ripen even quicker now. TY for your kind words.
Clark knows a lot about pears and he has many varieties. It’s difficult to find a pear that he doesn’t have and even harder to find one he doesn’t know about. Your efforts to educate and share pears will no doubt bear fruit.
came to find out more about @clarkinks , the fabulous- stayed for the bad puns. so much gratitude to you for all the information and help you’ve offered here.
Just to add one on top, I started paying attention to people’s handles more closely after reading one of your and @clarkinks’s friendly interactions. My brain correlated “tattoos” & “ink” and came up with a hypothesis that “Clark (also) inks” for a second. It was fun to observe, since I’m working on a mobile game about cognitive biasses…
that’s funny! that’s how my brain processed it also.
Clark in Kansas sounds like an alternative title for TV show “Smallville”.
Should we call him Fruit Superman (it doesn’t sound right, )?
I love reading your posts and advices.
How about Supearman (read with a drop of Russian accent).
Clark is my secret colleague. he has a full body suit of tattoos and wears concealer on every inch of skin to hide it for you guys.
edit: I’m gonna draw that pear art shortly, now that it’s been described
In order to leave the topic in this category we had to clean it up.
Thanks everyone for the very kind words and for the joking around we did. Thanks for starting the topic. All of you should have your own thread for being a great group of fruit growers! I would be happy if i could be more like any of you! @GaryFencler i hope to run into you sometime at a scion exchange or at a fruit tasting etc. . You will find out clarkinks is just a regular guy with an obsession for growing fruit.
The way things are going I predict that in a few years there are going to be a bunch of new Clarks here on this forum, so Clark don’t slow down!!
That was how I originally read it too, and now it’s just what my brain sees every time. Thought maybe he had a day job as a tattoo artist or something. Now that i type that out, it sounds pretty dumb.
Many thanks to lo of you smart, experienced people. I try to contribute where I can, if I have something smart to say.
We always want to get better at what we do. Thank you, i think we are all moving in the right direction
The first step in being a great orchardist is joining this forum and following the threads like you mentioned. There are some very talented growers on here. Please let us know how your orchard is doing and if we can be of help to improve anything. You have been with us several years though i find there are always things we all can improve on. That is certainly true for me. Thank you!
Thank you! I have accomplished some things with pear research and apples. It really is just a lot of fun to me. We have to do something in life and this type of thing is what i chose to do with mine.
For those who follow my pear research
Ha, I always read it as Clark Kinks. Figured it was from kinking branches, and not that kind of kink. I see it that way every time, even though I know better. My brain won’t read it correctly.
