Pruning help Shenandoah Valley

We are new to growing fruit and in the last couple years have planted 3 apples, 2 cherries, 2 pears and 1 peach and they need pruning but we have no idea how to do it. We’ve found lots of guides but would love to hire someone to prune them and show us how to do it correctly so we don’t mess them up! Anyone know anyone in the Shenandoah Valley area of VA that does this?

Welcome to the forum Christina! Please feel free to post a photo if you want of a particular tree. @DennisD is correct there will likely be more responses over time. It is very difficult now to find people like @alan who are experts in pruning that are willing to actually do it. He works only in the New York area but has an impressive reputation there as being one of the very best. Back to pruning my question would be what do you want to achieve by pruning? Are you pruning for fruit production, height control or all of the above? I would like to offer a few places to start When Pruning Pears theres a lot to learn - Brindilla, Tira savia, Chicken Paw to name a few terms . The nice thing is pear pruning is universal regardless of location here is more of the basics The right way to prune pear limbs
